SkiDoo DESS Disable / Delete

Sick of dealing with the DESS key not reading properly?

These issues can easily be solved!

The DESS can be disabled / deactivated on any Ski-Doo from 1998+ (or SeaDoo from 96+) with a CDI, MPEM, or ECM. This involves you sending your CDI/MPEM/ECM to me in Lockport, MB. Which I will then use BUDS (BRP Utility and Diagnostics Software) to deactivate the feature.

The DESS key will now work as a regular safety tether. There will never be any more issues with needing to wiggle it to get it to read or having to get a new key programmed in the future. On 2003+ Revs and XP, a bypass connector can also be used to get rid of the DESS post and key all together.

I've come across multiple MPEMs from late 90's SkiDoo's which won't read the DESS key or only work to read it intermittently, some will also run without a key installed. Some of them wouldn't read when the MPEM was cold but when it's heated up, they work fine. These issues have gone away on every one of these MPEMs that I have deactivated the DESS on.
